About.
ROY POOTS.
Since 2009, Roy Poots has been working as a landscape photographer, focusing on real conditions in the field. His work is built around natural light, atmosphere and timing, often captured in challenging environments such as mist, snow and changing weather.
Rather than chasing perfect conditions, Roy focuses on moments where light and atmosphere come together naturally. His photography is about observation, patience and working with what is there, not controlling it.
His work stands out by capturing real moments as they happen, without relying on controlled conditions or staged light.
Field focus:
- Landscape photography in real-world conditions
- Natural light and atmospheric scenes
- Working in mist, snow and changing weather
- Field-based storytelling and on-location photography
Selected partnerships
Selected partnerships with brands focused on real-world use and field-tested performance. His work is used by brands and platforms that value authenticity, real conditions and light-driven storytelling.

Gear.
What I rely on in the field.
Gear is not about having more, but about trusting what works when conditions are far from perfect.
From cold mornings in mist to fast-changing light in the field, every piece of equipment I use has been tested in real conditions. Reliability, speed and consistency matter more than specifications.
This is the gear I rely on when there is no second chance to capture the moment.
I work primarily with the Sony A7R IV, combined with a carefully selected range of lenses that allow me to adapt quickly to different scenes, perspectives and light conditions.
The setup is built for flexibility, whether capturing wide scale landscapes or detailed architectural scenes, with consistent image quality, sharpness and controlled color.
It is not about having more equipment, but about using tools that perform when it matters.

Collaborations.
I work with a small number of brands that fit naturally within my workflow and the environments I shoot in.
Every collaboration you see here is based on real-world use in the field, not controlled situations or staged content. The focus is always on reliability, performance and how gear holds up in changing conditions.
I only work with brands I trust and use consistently in my own photography.

Skylum
Luminar Neo is part of my creative workflow for shaping mood and atmosphere.
I use it selectively alongside my main post-processing workflow.

Blog.
Stories from the field, shaped by light, timing and real conditions.
Since 2009, I’ve been documenting my work in the field through photography and written stories, exploring landscapes, cities and the conditions that define a place.
Each article reflects real moments, from quiet mornings in mist to challenging weather, focusing on how light, atmosphere and timing come together on location.
My work is driven by light, timing and environment, capturing moments as they unfold rather than controlling them. Each journey adds another layer to how I see and photograph the world.
This blog combines photography with real-world experience, offering insight into locations, conditions and the decisions made in the field.
Rather than focusing on perfect scenarios, it shows the reality behind each image, including the process, challenges and context of the moment.

Real world landscape photography, without perfect conditions.
I document how photography actually works in the field, from mist and blue hour to fast changing weather.
No setups. No perfect scenarios. Just real decisions, timing and conditions in the field.
This is where I show how images are made, not just how they look.
Instagram.
Where selected work and moments come together.
Instagram is where the moments that matter in the field come together.
Not everything I shoot ends up here. Only the images where light, atmosphere and timing truly come together.
It’s a curated selection of real conditions, from quiet mornings in mist to blue hour cityscapes and changing weather in the field.
Follow along if you want to see how real conditions shape the final image.
Prints.
Photography that brings atmosphere into your space.
Each piece is selected and prepared to translate light, atmosphere and timing into a physical space.
Not as decoration, but as something that adds presence, calm and depth to a room.
Images that continue to hold attention, not just in the moment they were captured.
Produced on demand using premium materials and precise craftsmanship, each print reflects the original image with consistency and care.
Whether placed in a living room, workspace or quiet corner, each piece is meant to complement the space rather than dominate it.
